Early Career Teacher Entitlement Training Programme
Key information
With the goal of enhancing teacher development and improving the education of all students, Haybridge Teaching School Hub will be supporting the training of Early Career Teachers, Subject Mentors, and Induction Coordinators through the delivery of the Early Career Teacher Entitlement based on the updated DfE Initial Teacher Training Early Career Framework (ITTECF).
The updated framework (based on a combination of initial teacher training (ITT), core content framework (CCF) and the ECF) includes updates to special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), high-quality oral language (oracy), early cognitive development and evidence literacy.
The updated ECTE training programme continues to provide all Early Career Teachers to a fully funded, two-year package of structured training and support linked to the best research-based evidence.
Our training programme will include more content on adaptative teaching and supporting pupils with SEND. It will also include examples for different phases, settings and subjects.
The ECTE training programme is delivered in partnership by our chosen ‘Lead Provider’ (Ambition Institute).”
Working collectively with Ambition Institute, we will support mentors by:
– providing ‘diagnostic tools’ to help mentors tailor content for their ECTs.
-providing session materials for mentors.
*Mentor training has been reduced to one year for new mentors. New mentors can also reduce their training hours if they’ve had previous mentor training from ITT programmes.
*Please note, participants who commenced their training programme prior to September 2025 will remain on the legacy Early Career Framework programme.
